Wednesday 21 January 2009.
This General Meeting of the EIA was held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens at 10.30 am on Wednesday 21 January 2009. A Committee Room was available for us where tea and coffee were served from 10 am onwards. At the end of the meeting, there was a talk by Simon Gulliver, Plant and Records Officer from the BBG on “Plant response to climate change”. We then moved to the nearby Pavilion Tea Room where a table was reserved for us and a 4 course hot lunch was served. Admission to the 15 acres of gardens and glasshouses was free for EIA Members and any partners who wish to accompany them. There were four glasshouses, comprising a Tropical House, a Sub-Tropical House, a Mediterranean House and an Arid House. This was a really spectacular venue for our meeting.
