Set within 80 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and located a short distance from the historic Whitby coast, Raithwaite Hall Country Retreat (YO21 3ST) offered its guests luxury and splendour in some of the country’s most sumptuous and luxurious surroundings. The evening meal was held in a side room to the hotel restaurant, specially reserved for the EIA.
The hotel has extensive leisure facilities, including a gym, a heated swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
After enjoying the complimentary bar Mr Harry Collett gave a talk on Whitby, its history and its literary significance. A three course meal was served at 7.30 pm with complimentary wine, soft drinks or beer provided.
On the following morning, a full English breakfast was available for guests before assembling in the foyer at 10.am for the morning tour of Whitby Abbey.
