The meeting was held in the Land Rover Visitor Centre on the South Road at Halewood.

The meeting was preceded by refreshments and followed by a hot buffet lunch with a choice of meat or vegetarian dishes.    An introductory talk was given by the Land Rover guides and delegates were then taken by bus to the factory.   The tour began at the metal sheet goods inward bay when we were told that what we saw would become a completed Land Rover vehicle within 48 hours.    The guides took us round in two groups and we saw more robots than workers.  After 3 hours, the tour ended with a view of the millionth Land Rover to be made at Halewood.  Delegates were agreed that it had been a most remarkable factory visit that had been memorable for showing  a modern UK car manufacturing assembly plant to be proud of.
