Insucon 2023
The fourteenth edition of the International Electrical Insulation Conference, INSUCON 2023, was conducted in Birmingham, UK in April of the current year. The conference witnessed the presentation of forty-four technical papers over a three-day period to delegates representing seventeen different countries across the globe.
The topics covered were diverse, with a common focus on Electrical Insulating Materials. Noteworthy was the increased number of papers on HVDC Cables and e-mobility, including aerospace.
The conference was co-sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The organisers were pleased to have Sneha Hegde, a representative of the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS), speak about the Young Professionals Programme with enthusiasm. The Electrical Insulation Association (EIA) looks forward to strengthening this relationship in furtherance of the common objective of encouraging and developing young talent in our industry.
As is customary, the conference banquet provided an excellent opportunity for networking in a relaxed setting, and for attendees to unwind after a full day of conference activities.
The conference was also supported by a targeted exhibition showcasing a wide range of Insulation materials and test facilities for the Electrical Industry.
The organizing committee, comprising members of The Electrical Insulation Association in the UK, is already looking forward to planning the fifteenth edition of the conference. Details about the conference will be shared via the Electrical Insulation Magazine as soon as they become available.
