The Electrical Insulation Association UK

A Forum in which member companies can exchange views on matters of mutual interest

FRIDAY 10-11 OCTOBER 2014

The EIA Autumn Social Event was held in the 4* Palace Hotel in Buxton.  Said to be the premier hotel in the town it is set in 5 acres of grounds with a commanding view of Buxton and the countryside beyond.  The dinner was held in the Conservatory at the front of the hotel.  It was preceded, as usual, by a free bar for guests, starting at 6 pm.  At 7 pm, the guests were entertained by a talk on Buxton and the surrounding area given by Michael Clement from Discover Buxton.   The illuminating and fascinating presentation was illustrated by slides and a video.

Dinner was served at about 7.45 pm.   Drinks during the meal will be paid for by the Association.  Up to two couples were given complimentary entry from each Member company and, in the end, a record number of 42 people attended.

On the Saturday morning, most of the guests took advantage of a complimentary guided tour of Chatsworth House.   This was an eye-opening insight into one of the most beautiful furnished houses in the UK.  Most guests took a lunch in the restaurant and finished with a tour of the extensive gardens.  Some couples returned to Buxton for a second night at The Palace Hotel.   This was agreed to have been one of the most successful Social Events held by the EIA.
