The Electrical Insulation Association UK

A Forum in which member companies can exchange views on matters of mutual interest

FRIDAY 20th APRIL 2012

The EIA held its Annual General Meeting at the Thistle Hotel, Haydock Park on Friday 20th April 2012, commencing at 2.30pm. Unfortunately, the talk arranged for before the meeting by Michelle Clarke entitled “Extraordinary Teams in Flow”, concerned with building teams and the creation of business strategies, had to be post-poned until the 2013 AGM due to a low turnout. It was followed by the traditional dinner at 7 pm whch was hosted by the Association at no charge to Members with a free bar before and during the meal for everyone. The overnight accommodation was also paid for by the EIA. The highlight of the evening was arranged by Mr Littlehales who had used his influence to allow EIA guests to gain entry to the closing speeches at a charity event taking place in the hotel marquee. Speeches were made by Ron Atkinson, the ex-manager of many UK clubs, and a comedian.

In keeping with previous years, the EIA Annual Golf Competition was held on the same day at the Ashton-in-Makerfield Golf Club with the first tee at 7.30 am. All green fees were paid by the Association. Prizes were awarded for the best individual score (Todd Littlehales) and team score (Todd Littlehales’ team). The prize for the shot nearest to a previously nominated hole was not awarded this year due to the wayward nature of the tee shots.
